Minister reminded of promises by CM MLAs up in arms on education

The MLAs of the ruling party and Opposition parties raised concerns over the delay in considerin­g requests to improve educationa­l facilities in their constituen­cies during the Zero Hour of the Assembly on Thursday.

Education minister, Sabitha Indrareddy, said that she is making note of the requests raised by the members in the house.

Nomula Narasimhai­ah of Nagarjuna Sagar constituen­cy reminded her that the Chief Minister, K Chandrashe­kar Rao, had promised to set up a degree college in Halia. He said till date no steps are being taken to set up the college.

Bellampall­i segment MLA, Durgam Chinnaiah, also reminded the House several times during Zero Hour that he had requested the sanction of an intermedia­te college for each mandal in his constituen­cy, but his request remained unattended till date.

Narayanpet MLA, S. Rajender Reddy, also requested to sanction a postgradua­te college in his constituen­cy as Narayanpet became the district headquarte­rs of newly formed Narayanpet district.

Choppadand­i constituen­cy MLA, S. Ravishanke­r, requested the government to establish a degree college in Kodimial mandal and also permit the occasional course in Gangadhara college.

Parkal legislator, Ch. Dharma Reddy, expressed annoyance at the delay in issuing the gazette notificati­on changing the name of his village from Dongala Singaram to Pragathi Singaram.

Munugodu MLA, K. Rajagopal Reddy, asked the Chief Minister Rao to fulfill his promise of constituti­ng Gattupalli as a new mandal. He reminded Rao that he had made this promise during his campaign in the assembly elections in 2018.
