`50,000 cr to be spent on Hyd in 5 yrs
Municipal administration and urban development minister K.T. Rama Rao on Sunday disclosed in the Assembly that the state government has decided to take up the development of Hyderabad under Mission Mode with `50,000 crore in the coming five years.
While replying to the discussion on Budget 2020-21 on municipal administration and urban development, he said that the Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao was very keen on developing the Hyderabad as a world class city.
Reminding that the state government has proposed `10,000 crore in the Budget to carry out Musi River purification and Musi River Front Project and all other special projects and works in Hyderabad Urban Agglomeration area, he said, “We will prepare comprehensive plans and strategies for the overall development of Hyderabad with the support of the Administrative Staff College of India and other consultant agencies.”
The minister said that the Shah Consultants has already submitted Master Sewage Plan for Hyderabad and the state government is examining it and they will implement soon. He said under the Mission Hyderabad they are planning to develop sewage system on the outskirts of Hyderabad as was done with regard to drinking water facility on the outskirts at a cost of `1,700 crore.
“Under the Mission Hyderabad we will ensure the better sanitation system and roads in the city,” he promised
He said that under the
Charminar pedestrian project, 90 per cent works of the Inner Ring Road at Charminar were completed and `16 crore were spent on the project and if required they will spend up to `30 crore for the completion of the project.
He told the House that under Mission Bhagiratha they could not complete works in 38 towns in the state due to unavoidable reasons and now in the present budget `800 crore was proposed for those 38 towns and works will be taken up on war foot basis.
