New Delhi: Several MPs on Friday went into selfquarantine following the announcement by BJP MP Dushyant Singh and his mother former Rajasthan CM Vasun-dhara Raje that they were self-isolating themselves after attending a party last week with singer Kanika Kapoor who has tested positive for Covid-19. Mr Singh was among the 100 MPs who attended a breakfast meeting hosted by President Ram Nath Kovind.

Two MLAs belonging to the Muslim League in Kerala went in self quarantine after they came in contact with a person infected with Covid -19.

The person with whom they came into contact, was tested positive for Covid–19 and had also participated in a marriage function held on March 14.

The district administration is preparing route map of the infected person.

According to one of the affected legislators M.C. Kamrudheen, the person had approached him for taking a photograph. He stopped his vehicle on the way to take the picture.

“Considering the health department’s standing instructions, I decided to opt for self-quarantine. I humbly request people who are under surveillance or quarantine to stay indoors till their tests are found negative,” he told mediapersons.

The district authorities said that this particular individual had attended a marriage ceremony which made the issue more complicated.

A number of people who might have come into close contact with him have to be traced now.

After giving his samples for test, the person had gone out in the public which was highly irresponsible behaviour.

Kasargod MLA N.A. Nellikunnu told media persons that he met the same person at a weeding. “He is a known social and political activist of the

area. That’s how I met him and gave handshake as well. He is also visits Dubai frequently,” he added.

Meanwhile, Kasargod collector Sajith Babu has issued strict instructions on Friday directing all people who returned from foreign countries after February 20 to report to the nearest health authorities, PHCs or CHCs.

The people who returned from Naif, a locality near Deira in Dubai and Umrah should mandatorily report to the health officials.
