24-HR CURFEW IF LOCKDOWN NOT RESPECTED

Chief secretary, Somesh Kumar, in a circular, cautioned that if the present system of lock down fails then 24-hour curfew will be imposed on the state. He said that the present night time curfew will continue till March 31.

Kumar instructed that “in this context, all collectors and CPs/SPs should have a joint press conference to request all citizens to cooperate so that the necessity of imposing harsher restrictio­ns and enforcemen­t measures does not arise.”

According to the circular, curfew shall be imposed from 7 pm to 6 am every day till 31 March, 2020. All the shops and establishm­ent shall be closed by 6 pm every day so that people can reach their homes by 7 pm. The following are the instructio­ns in the circular to the general public and also official machinery in the state

If any establishm­ent does not close by 7 pm, it should be closed immediatel­y and legal action should be taken against it. Movement of people should be restricted to 3 km from their houses in Hyderabad. In other cities, a lesser limit can be imposed, depending upon the size of the city.

A list of persons who are put in home quarantine should be available on the collector's table. The process of home quarantine is to be monitored very strictly. GHMC collectors of Rangareddy, Medchal and Hyderabad are to play key role in the monitoring as 75 per cent of foreign returnees are from these districts. Their passports are to be collected under proper procedure and returned once their quarantine is over.

Any person having any emergency shall dial 100. The police department is requested to ensure that the caller is attended to urgently. Police personnel shall be courteous while dealing with such emergencie­s. The supply chain of essential services is not to be disturbed. The price of all essential commoditie­s shall be monitored on a daily basis. Essential items which are permitted in GO Ms 45, vehicles carrying those goods going outside the state and those coming into the state shall be allowed movement in the evening hours.

Hospitals, clinics, and medical shops shall be allowed to function. Collectors should report any issues.
