- DC CORRESPONDENT

Vedic scholar Bachampalli Santosh Kumar Sastry of Sringeri Sarada Peetham, reading out the Panchangam (almanac) for Sarvari Nama Samvastaram, cautioned the people to be more cautious till May 22, 2020.

The total lockdown announced by the Centre and state government resulted in scaled-down celebrations of the Telugu New Year, Ugadi in Telangana on Wednesday.

However, traditional fervour won over health concerns early in the morning as people thronged many of the markets in Hyderabad and other parts of the state. Homes were decorated with mango leaves and flowers and people ate Ugadi ‘Pachadi,’ which is made with neem flowers, jaggery, pepper or green chillies, salt, tamarind juice, and small pieces of raw mango.

The state government organised celebrations at endowments commissionerate in the city but they were low-key with the Vedic scholar reading out the Almanac predicting good rains in the Telugu

New Year. He stated that Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, who is striving for the progress of Telangana will continue his efforts and he will attract the people with his good administration in the New Year.

He said that KCR’s zodiac sign is Karkataka Rasi (Cancer) and in Sarvari Nama Samvastaram would be more beneficial personally to the Chief Minister.

He said that though there will be ups and down in the state economy due to the economic slowdown in the country, the state government will successfully overcome the situation.

Maintaining that Sarvari Nama Samvastaram started with the Sarpa Yoga, the state as well the country will face some calamities and the people should more cautious till May 22 and to protect them from these calamities the people have to perform the Yaganas and Yagas.

He also predicted ups and down in the banking sector in the New Year.

The Vedic scholar said that in the new year the Centre and the state government will work like brethren and face all the hardships to protect the people from the calamities and also for the welfare of the people.

He predicted that with the completion of the Kaleshswaram Project, Telangana will turn into a lush green state.
