KTR inspects ongoing lockdown
Municipal administration and urban development (MA&UD) minister. K.T. Rama Rao on Wednesday toured various parts of Hyderabad city and inspected the ongoing measures taken to prevent the spread of coronavirus. The minister took note of the situation while lockdown is being implemented in the city.
Some daily wage workers,natives of Suryapet district, were struck in Hyderabad due to the lockdown. While they were walking on the road along with their belongings, Rao, who was on his way to buddha bhavan, stopped the convoy and interacted with them. Learning about their problem, Rao immediately arranged for a vehicle and instructed the officials to make sure they reached their destination safely.
Rao also interacted with a youth, an orphan,who is a native of Bihar. He instructed officials to shift the youth to one of the night shelters in the city.
Later, Rao went to the enforcement, vigilance and disaster management (EVDM) office at buddha bhavan in Hyderabad. He enquired about the measures being taken up by the GHMC Disaster Response Force (DRF) to curtail the spread of coronavirus in the city.
Rao then visited the call centre set up at the GHMC head office to respond to queries related to the coronavirus. He interacted with the staff and asked them to respond with empathy to the queries of citizens.
Rao also visited the GHMC night shelter at Golnaka and interacted with the senior citizens and children there.
