CM crossed decency limits: Uttam
Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president and MP N. Uttam Kumar Reddy has charged that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao has crossed all limits of decency while targeting Congress party during his press conference at Pragathi Bhavan on Tuesday.
Addressing a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan on Wednesday, he pointed out that the language used by KCR against Congress leaders was insulting and does not behove the stature of a Chief Minister. He said during the 30 years of his political career, he has not seen any CM who has stooped so low in targeting his political opponents.
Uttam Kumar Reddy said it is unfortunate that a person who began his career as a “passport broker” is calling Congress leaders “brokers”. “Would we not call a person a ‘buffoon’ who went on record in Assembly stating that Coronavirus could be treated with a paracetamol tablet?” the
Congress chief asked.
He pointed out that citing financial problems the Chief Minister has imposed a salary cut on all employees and even reduced pensioners’ pay by half. However, he said thousands of crores have been paid to various contractors in the same month. Citing this, he alleged that KCR is robbing the Telangana’s exchequer to benefit Andhra contractors.
The TPCC chief said CM KCR has shown utter disrespect to the institution of Governor by criticising the representation submitted by
Congress party to Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan. He said KCR should be ashamed for wrongly stating that Congress leaders are expecting a higher death toll due to coronavirus.
He accused the CM of making false claims about Telangana being the only state procuring agricultural produce from farmers. He pointed out that Chhattisgarh and the other Congress-ruled states had not only waived off crop loans of farmers but also purchased the agriculture produce by paying prices above MSP.
