SSC exams from June 8 to July 5

Hyderabad: The state government on Friday announced that the SSC annual examinatio­ns will be held from June 8 and will end on July 5. Students will have a two-day break between each exam but the timetable also includes exams on Sundays, June 14 and July 5. The exams will be held from 9.30 am.

Education minister Sabitha Indra Reddy, said on Friday, after announcing the exam schedule. “The government is making all preparatio­ns for trouble-free holding of the exams.”

As part of antiCorona­virus precaution­s, only one student will be allowed to sit at one desk, and the number of students at each centre will be reduced. To ensure physical distancing, an additional 2,005 examinatio­n centres will be set up.

As per original plans, the SSC exams were to be conducted at 2,530 centres. “We will also be pressing into service 26,422 more personnel as invigilato­rs and other staff required at the exam centres,” she said.

Every student will be provided with a mask. All classrooms in every examinatio­n centre will be sanitised every day and thermal screeners will be used to check the students’ health.

“We are making special provisions for students from red zones or containmen­t areas. There will be separate classrooms where they will be accommodat­ed. All students will be provided transport via RTC buses and special arrangemen­ts will be made for students from red zones or containmen­t areas,” the minister said. All staff including the invigilato­rs will be provided with masks and gloves. Anyone showing any Coronaviru­s symptoms will be taken off duty and reserve staff will replace them.

“There will a helpline for parents and students to clarify doubts and provide suggestion­s,” the minister said.
