Tirupati laddus to be sold from tomorrow
TTD Additional Executive Officer A.V. Dharma Reddy on Saturday flagged off vehicles carrying laddu Prasadam from Tirumala to the TTD-run kalayana mandapams located in all 13 district headquarters.
It may be recalled that TTD has decided to sell laddus at half of its price from May 25 onwards.
Speaking on the occasion, Dharma Reddy said that uncertainty prevailed on the resumption of Srivari darshan, which remains suspended for over 60 days following the Coronavirus lockdown.
He pointed out that TTD has been receiving mails, phone calls, WhatsApp messages seeking resumption of sale of Srivari laddu prasadam. The TTD Board favourably decided to resume laddu supply and at half the original price of `50 per laddu. He said two lorries each left for Srikakulam, Visakhapatnam, Guntur, Krishna,
East and West Godavari districts and all districts would be covered by Sunday. TTD will
● stock 15,000-20,000 laddus at TTD Kalyana Mandapams in all district headquarters in the state.
TTD employees, Srivari sevakulu, HDPP staff, police and revenue officials are adequately deployed to observe social distancing and sanitise environment at the sale points. He said they are making limited quantities of the big Kalyanotsavam laddus, which would be used for the rituals at Srivari temple.
Earlier, the Additional EO participated in the 44th day events of Yogavashistam - Dhanvantari Maha Mantra parayanam that is underway at the Nada Niranjanam in Tirumala, under the auspices of Dharmagiri Veda vijnan peetham. He also performed Gow-puja on the occasion of Rohini Nakshtram.
