BJP slams auction of TTD lands

- DC CORRESPONDENT

Taking a serious view over TTD proceeding to dispose 23 prime properties in Tamil Nadu, the BJP demanded immediate cancellation of the sale process.

In a strongly worded letter addressed to AP Chief Minister, Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, on Saturday, the BJP AP state unit president, Kanna Lakshminarayana, termed the move to sell TTD assets as a treacherous decision.

Citing the sale of 23 properties at various locations in Tamil

Nadu, he alleged that the government has constituted two teams for conducting the public action.

The properties ready for auction include house sites, buildings and agriculture land of TTD with an upset value of more than `1.50 cr.

The bidding values of a house site is between `2 lakh to 40 lakh and one property in Vellore district was put at `43.74 lakh.

The TTD board resolved to dispose them under the pretext that they are unviable and not maintainable.

“I have no hesitation to state that the present government is hell bent on humiliating the sentiments, emotions and religious beliefs of Hindus of not only our state but the whole world. Our party has been bringing to your notice, from time to time, your deliberate anti-Hindu decisions and acts. Tirumala Balaji, worshipped by crores of Hindus, is the protector of humanity in Kaliyuga. It is clearly established now that your government will liquidate all the assets of Hindu temples in the state and Hinduism in the state,” Lakshminarayana alleged.

He cautioned that the BJP is not going to allow the anti-Hindu acts of the government. He warned that crores of Hindus across the world will raise their voices of resentment, protest, grief and condemnation against the AP government for trying to sell the properties of their God, Venkateswara.

“I caution you to retreat from making Hindu temples bankrupt as you are doing the state. Finally, I tell you not to indulge in any act of humiliating, hurting and cornering Hindus in the state,” Lakshminarayana thundered in his letter.
