Warangal man kills nine to cover up one murder
Police investigation into the death of nine guest workers on May 20 at a gunny bag manufacturing unit near Warangal revealed that they were killed to cover up another murder committed by the accused Sanjay Kumar Yadav in March this year.
Sanjay was arrested on Monday, Warangal police commissioner V. Ravinder told the media. Among Sanjay’s victims were his colleague Maqsood Alam and five members of his family, and three guest workers, Sriram and Shyam from Bihar and Shakeel from Tripura.
Sanjay came to Warangal six years back and began working in a gunny bag manufacturing unit where one Maqsood was working.
He got close to Maqsood’s family and met Rafika, 37, a guest worker from West Bengal who lived alone with her three children. Rafika is the daughter of Maqsood’s wife Nisha’s sister.
Sanjay and Rafika decided to get married and started living together. He started misbehaving with her teenage daughter. When Rafika confronted him, he decided to kill her. He convinced her that he would speak to her family back in West Bengal regarding their wedding and they left Warangal on March 6 in a train. He fed her butter milk spiked with sleeping tablets. In the middle of the night when all the passengers were sleeping, he
strangled Rafika with her own dupatta and threw her off the train. Tadepalligudem police who found her body registered a case of suspicious death.
Later on, Sanjay detrained at the Rajamundry and took another train back to Warangal. He told
