- DC CORRESPONDENT

Reeling under low revenue collection due to the national lockdown, the Telangana government has decided to pay only 50 per cent salary to its employees for the month of May also. It has paid only the half salary for the month of March and April also.

Ministers, MLAs, MLCs, chairpersons of government corporations and urban and rural local bodies members would get 25 per cent of their salaries, while IAS, IPS and IFS officials would get 40 per cent salary. Pensioners would get 75 per cent of their pension, while outsourcing and contract workers would get 90 per cent. The government has also decided to stop the financial aid of `1,500 given to labourers including guest workers as they are getting work after lockdown was eased.

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy has alleged that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao and his AP counterpart Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy have jointly conspired to divert Krishna River waters of Telangana to Andhra Pradesh by enhancing the capacity of the Pothireddypadu Project.

He was speaking during a PowerPoint Presentation being made on Pothireddypadu Project by AICC secretary and ex-MLA A. Sampath Kumar at the Mahabubnagar DCC office on Wednesday.

Uttam Kumar Reddy said the conspiracy was jointly hatched by the two CMs during the several meetings they held together in Hyderabad last year. When AP Chief Minister Jagan announced expansion of Pothireddypadu Project in December last year, Congress leader Nagam Janardhan Reddy immediately sent a letter to Telangana CM seeking his immediate intervention. Since Mr Rao himself was part of this conspiracy, he maintained silence and did not respond on the issue.

The TPCC chief alleged that the Chief Minister is mortgaging the interests of Telangana’s future generations for just a few percentage commission from contractors of irrigation projects. While much money has been wasted in the name of Kaleshwaram Project, nothing has been done in

Although the people of Mahabubnagar gave political life to Chandrashekar Rao, he did nothing for them and kept all projects of the district pending. He urged the Congress workers of Mahabubnagar, Nalgonda and Khammam to participate in an agitation on June 2 at all irrigation projects in their districts. The TPCC chief reminded Congress workers about the nationwide online campaign the party is organising on Thursday to highlight the plight of migrant workers, MSMEs and other sections due to the unplanned lockdown.

He said it is mandatory that all Congress leaders and workers participate in the campaign through social media platforms.
