TS RECORDS 99 NEW CASES, 4 DEATHS, MEDCHAL DISTRICT MAY SEE BIG SPIKE

92 deaths. The state now has 2,891 cases. Medchal had at least 20 samples collected on Tuesday with

Covid-19 symptoms.

Ninety-nine more persons tested positive in the state on Tuesday, and there was a surge in cases in Medchal district with people coming to hospitals with symptoms of cough, cold, fever and diarrohea. Four deaths were recorded in the state taking the toll to 92 deaths. The state now has 2,891 cases.

Medchal district which saw a spurt in cases two days ago had at least 20 samples collected on Tuesday with clinical conditions pointing towards Covid-19.

Besides, after the goofup on Monday, where Nalgonda and Peddapally districts were shown as having zero cases in one column and two and one respectively in another, the state health bulletin removed the list of districts with no cases.

Among the four persons who died on Tuesday were two women aged 70 and 60 years who had hypertension, a 42-yearold man with cardiac problems leading to complications and a 41-yearold

man with thyroid problems.

Health minister Etela Rajendar conveyed a meeting with senior health officials and discussed comorbid conditions of cancer patients. Since cancer and dialysis patients are at high risk, they need to be treated separately when infected with Covid-19.

The minister said the department was formulating a policy whereby there will be a separate ward to treat cancer patients affected with

Covid-19. Presently cancer patients are undergoing treatment in common Covid-19 wards at Gandhi Hospital.
