Follow Central guidelines to curb Covid: Kishan tells CM
Conduct tests on a larger scale, Union minister urges TS govt
Union minister of state for home G. Kishan Reddy on Monday wrote to Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao and asked him to meticulously follow the guidelines issued by the Union health ministry to control Covid-19, which is rampant in the state.
Kishan Reddy expressed serious concern over the increase in Coronavirus cases in the state and more particularly in his Secunderabad parliamentary constituency.
He said scores of citizens had been calling him regularly and anxiously about the way Covid-19 was spreading during the last 10 days. It is the responsibility of both the state government and the Centre to control the situation as expeditiously as possible and that happens only when the government acts swiftly, Kishan Reddy wrote to the Chief Minister.
In this context, he appealed to the Chief Minister to follow the advisory issued by the health ministry after a review meeting with 10 states most affected by the Coronavirus. Kishan Reddy said tests must be conducted on a larger scale and reports must come at a faster rate so that the disease spread could be identified at an early stage.
He requested the Chief Minister to strengthen medical infrastructure in hospitals, deploy senior doctors and experts to get necessary medical advice and to conduct a house-tohouse survey to identify those who are likely to be affected. He suggested that these measures be taken especially in containment zones. While assuring all possible help from the Centre, Kishan Reddy felt that it is the responsibility of both the Centre and the state to take all possible measures to minimise the impact of Covid at the earliest, he said.
