HC orders violated to help the Kolluris

Official misled CMO on Manchirevula land

- N. VAMSI SRINIVAS I DC

The Ranga Reddy joint collector involved in the Manchirevula land scam has violated the directives of the Telangana High Court and ensured the entry of names of the ‘Kolluri family’ members in the revenue records.

The HC single bench, in another contempt case, had sentenced him to imprisonment which was stayed by a division bench. Sources said he even misled the Chief Minister’s Office on the controversy relating to the Manchirevula land dispute. The report in Deccan Chronicle, ‘Official helps landsharks on `1,000 cr land’ on June 18, had stated that the joint collector had issued orders allowing the revision petitions filed by members of the ‘Kolluri family’ seeking entry of their name in revenue records.

By the time he issued the orders, the HC had given a directive that the name of original land owner, Hyder Ali Mirza, should be restored in records and any other claimant should go to the civil court to resolve title disputes.

Justice Sanjay Kumar raised queries on the ownership claims of ‘Kolluri family’ and left it to the civil court to decide. A few months later, the JC gave a sweeping order that the ‘Kolluri family’ members

are the rightful owners of the property and authenticated all their documents, the genuineness of which is currently under investigation.

The joint collector offered to show DC the relevant records in support of his orders. When this correspondent went to his office on his invitation, the official backed out. He misled DC as well as the CMO stating that he had never recommended entry of the ‘Kolluri family’ members’ names in revenue records. “My order is limited only to setting aside the entries of other

claimants. In no way it would mean entry of Kolluri family members,” he asserted.

But, based on his order in case no D1/522/2019 dt 8.2.20, the Gandipet tahsildar mutated the name of one K. Mallesh in the Record of Rights (ROR) and the same is found in Dharani, the integrated land parcel search of the Chief Commissioner of Land Administration website.

When contacted, Ranga Reddy collector Amoy Kumar said a thorough inquiry would be conducted into the matter.
