TS Haj panel to return passports of applicants
Telangana State Haj Committee will return passports of the Haj applicants after Saudi Arabia has announced that it will not allow nationals of other countries enter the kingdom and perform Haj in view of the Coronavirus.
Addressing media, Haj committee chairman Mohammed Masiullah Khan said amounts deposited by the applicants will be returned into their accounts directly by the Haj Committee of India.
Khan said consequent on the announcement by
Saudi Arabia, the candidature of Haj applicants for Haj-2020 stands cancelled by default.
The amount already paid by the applicants will be refunded 100 percent into their bank accounts by the Haj Committee of India within one month.
He said passports collected by the Telangana State Haj Committee will be returned to respective applicants after receipt of the same from the Haj Committee of India. People of twin cities will be informed through media and SMS about collecting their passports once they are received by the state committee. Passports of applicants from districts will be returned through their Haj societies or by Speed Post.
Masiullah Khan said in case of applicants who have died, nominees, whose name has been filed in the Haj form, can submit their bank details, along with the copy of the death certificate, to the Haj Committee of India at email hajcommittee@nic.in.
