In a shocking incident, the staff of film producer and YSR Congress leader Potluri Vara Prasad, popularly known as PVP. on Sunday unleashed his five ferocious dogs at Banjara Hills police, who had reached his residence to investigate a case of trespass booked against him

According to police, an investigation team headed by detective inspector K. Ravi Kumar and including two sub-inspectors and a Home Guard went to the Prasad’s residence at Plot No. 9/111, Road No. 82, Jubilee Hills, on Sunday evening.

“The police asked the watchman and caretaker Munna and Nani to open the main gate, which was locked from inside. They refused saying they have to take permission,” said Jubilee Hills inspector K. Sattaiah. The police waited outside the gate.

After some time, one of them returned and informed the policemen that the house owners, Prasad and his wife, have directed them not to allow the police inside. The police tried to open the main gate. At this, the servants unleashed the five dogs that tried to attack the policemen. This forced the police team to return, the inspector said.

Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, Ravi Kumar said, “We had issued a notice under Section 41 (a) CrPC (Notice to appear before a police officer), asking Prasad to present himself on Thursday (June 25) at 10 am. The accused failed to do so. Since then, the YSRC leader’s phone was coming switched off. Consequently, we visited his residence on Sunday evening to question him regarding the case. But he unleashed five ferocious dogs against us,” Ravi Kumar said.

Based on complaint by Banjara Hills sub-inspector D. Harish Reddy, Jubilee Hills police on Sunday booked a case under Section 353 IPC (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty) against Prasad, his wife, watchman Munna and caretaker Nani.

On June 24, Banjara Hills police had booked a case against Prasad on charges of trespassing into the house of his neighbour Vikram Kailash along with

20 of his henchmen and demolishing a temporarily built roof top garden structure. Police then questioned him for more than

12 hours on the same day. They then asked Prasad to present himself for questioning on June 25, but he did not.
