KTR: TRS WILL STAY INTACT FOR 100 YRS

- S.A. ISHAQUI | DC

Recalling the hurdles and conspiracies faced by the TRS in its 20-year journey, TRS working president and minister K.T. Rama Rao on Saturday exuded confidence that the party will remain intact for another 100 years.

He was handing over a cheque of `16.11 crore as premium towards accident insurance for over 60 lakh party activists to representatives of United India Life Insurance, at Telangana Bhavan.

Rama Rao said that though the party was thrown out of Jala Drushyam, the then CM’s house, soon after its formation, it had realised the dream of Telangana state due to the hard work and perseverance of its cadre. “Party activists have taken care of the TRS for several years. Now, the party is in a position to take care of its activists. We have paid `16.11 crore as premium towards accident insurance of over 60 lakh party activists this year. In case of the accidental death of a TRS activist, the bereaved family will receive an insurance of `2 lakh,” Rama Rao said.

He said the party workers made extraordinary sacrifices. “Today, the party has grown into an invincible and strong political force. We are planning to take up more programmes for the welfare of the party cadre.”

Rama Rao asked the TRS MLAs to interact with party activists frequently and resolve any issues. He urged TRS activists to act as a bridge between the people and the state.
