JAGAN LAUNCHES E-RAKSHABAND­HAN FOR WOMEN, KIDS

Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has launched a first-of-its-kind innovative programme “E-Rakshaband­han” to protect women and children of the state from cyber and other crimes.

Announcing that it is a gift to women on the Raksha Bandhan Day, he said 4s4u.ap police.gov.in web portal will provide informatio­n on various issues, like how woman can deal with cyber crimes, harassment and other issues. The portal will inform how and where to complain about the crime and how to download the Disha App. It also has all important phone numbers that can be contacted.

The Chief Minister said, “I am happy to start two women-oriented programmes on the occasion of Rakhi Bandhan. Three MoUs have also been signed with major internatio­nal companies today, which will empower women. And the web portal for women safety is also being launched on the same day.”

CM Jagan said, “We have already passed the Disha Bill. It is awaiting President’s nod. We have also started 18 Disha police stations, besides appointing special public prosecutor­s. Women welfare has been high on our priority. Immediatel­y after forming the government, we have provided 50 percent reservatio­ns for women in nominated posts and in government contracts, besides implementi­ng schemes like Amma Vodi, Vasati Deevena, Asara and Cheyutha. 30 lakh house sites are being registered in the names of women of the household.”

The CM stated, “We have given the post of Home Minister to a woman as well to show our commitment. We have regulated liquor sale and have drasticall­y brought down the sale of liquor. Permit rooms and belt shops have been closed. The latest portal too is in the best interest of the women.”
