Etala turns focus to district hospitals

- SANJAY SAMUEL PAUL I DC

Health minister Etala Rajendar instructed all collectors to ensure that every

Covid-19 patient gets proper treatment and those in home isolation are provided with homecare kits. He was speaking along with Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar, to the collectors during a video conference.

Rajendar said the collectors should seek suggestions and advice from the district ministers with respect to extending treatment to Covid-19 patients. They were asked to send proposals for setting up of

Covid-19 testing centres, provide details of medical staff vacancies and forward proposals on private hospitals seeking to treat Covid19 patients. Somesh Kumar stressed the need to test all people coming for Covid-19 tests.

Those who test positive, should be counselled. If they are to be placed in home quarantine, they must be provided with medical kits provided by the government.

The minster asked collectors to review the availability of oxygen at all government hospitals and other medical care facilities. The officials were asked to send proposals to extend oxygen supply to all beds in the area and district hospitals, as well as those attached to medical colleges.
