BJP: CM cheats TS by skipping meet on water

BJP state president Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Saturday alleged that having made a secret pact with his AP counterpar­t, Chief Minister K. Chandrashe­kar Rao was cheating the people of Telangana state by skipping the Apex Council meeting of Union Jal Shakthi ministry to resolve water sharing disputes with AP government.

Addressing a press conference, he charged that both Chief Ministers had come to an understand­ing and constructi­ng irrigation projects in a big way for getting commission­s. He said while AP Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy was going ahead with tenders for Pothireddy­padu head regulator works, Rao did not find time even to attend the August 5 Apex Council meeting.

Sanjay said Rao can show his commitment to the people of Telangana state by attending an Apex Council meeting before August 11, when AP floats the tenders for its projects, along with his AP counterpar­t.

He said that he spoke to Union minister for water resources Gajendra Singh Shekhawat on Friday and explained how Rao was cheating the people by colluding with Jagan Mohan Reddy. “Responding to my request, the Union Minister wrote letters to both the CMs in this regard on Saturday,” he added.
