SSR DEATH CASE: RHEA RELEASES TEXT MESSAGES IN HER SUPPORT

In a bid to support her claims, Rhea Chakraborty, girlfriend of late Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, on Saturday put out some text messages exchanged between them and gratitude notes, which she claimed were written by Rajput. Along with this, she uploaded a picture on social media of the 34-year-old actor's water bottle stating that these three things were the only property of Rajput that were in her possession.

During the Enforcement Directorate (ED) interrogation, Chakraborty claimed that the 500 sq. ft residential property in Khar (East) was bought using her money and that she had not taken any monetary help from Rajput. The ED has not found any direct bank transaction between the two actors and the details of other accounts is now being checked. The probe entails allegations by Rajput’s father of Chakraborty taking away `15 crore from the deceased actor.

The statement recorded by Chakraborty and her brother Showik will be vetted with the findings in the probe, officials said. The ED will also question bank officials apart from Chakraborty’s chartered accountant. The officials are using the case filed by Bihar police as the base of initiating the investigation, which has now been taken over by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

“All angles are being probed and details of the bank accounts of the family members is also being looked into,” said investigating officials.

The Maharashtra government meanwhile filed their reply before the Supreme Court stating the case cannot be transferred to the CBI as the Bihar had no locus standi to register a case in connection with the incident that took place in Mumbai.
