Counsellin­g needed first on holding virtual classes

Many parents and children are not fully prepared for online classes to be launched by the state government soon. However, the government yet to officially announce the reopening of schools and colleges and conducting of online classes.

Many private schools have started online classes on their own to see that student strength is intact and to create a feeling among parents that their kids are learning something even when the schools are closed.

But many private schools have stopped online classes following complaints that the management­s forced the parents to pay the pending school fees or fresh school fees for the new academic year and purchase the books in the schools.

The government has to create awareness among parents and children before introducin­g online classes There are language and technology barriers among the parents and children and many parents are not familiar with the operation of online classes on smart mobiles, tablets and computers.

Private schools’ management­s are preparing to restart online classes and are collecting details about gadgets available with the students.

It is said that the state government is planning to start schools and colleges from next month and efforts are being made to start classes for college students first and gradually for school students.

According to sources, even the state government has conducted a survey to know how many students have electronic gadgets to start online classes.
