WEAR MASKS TO CURB COVID, GOV. TELLS POLITICIANS
Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan on Wednesday expressed anguish over the noncompliance of preventive measures like maintaining physical distance and mandatory wearing of mask to stop the spread of Covid1-19 by a section of politicians. The Governor said that wearing of masks would effectively prevent the spread of virus by at least 80 per cent.
She was addressing a video conference organized by the Federation of Telangana Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FTCCI) from the Raj Bhavan here on ‘Strategic interventions of Central and State governments for the mitigation of Covid-19 Crisis.’ The Governor exhorted the commerce and industry leaders to intensify their efforts in mitigating the crisis caused by Covid-19 pandemic and support the government. She said that the commerce and industry sector was showing lot of resilience in overcoming the crisis and has been sustaining the livelihoods of the millions of people.
Dr Soundararajan said that early detection of
Covid-19 cases through “testing, testing and more testing, contact tracing and isolation would reduce the risk of
Covid-19 spread.” FTCCI president Ramakanth Inani urged the Governor to impress upon the governments to chalk out a roadmap for economic revival.
The president of the organisation said FTCCI, with Administrative Staff College of India, has set up a think tank, ‘Centre for Monitoring Covid’ to research, analyse and create awareness on different areas related to the disease in Telangana.
