AP cops announce `1L reward for info on Ramesh hospital top brass

AP police has announced a cash award of ` one lakh for those who give informatio­n leading to the arrest of top management personnel of Ramesh Hospitals.

Though the police have arrested three hospital officials in the aftermath of the death of 10 patients in the fire mishap in Swarna Palace Hotel hired by the hospital to run Covid Care Centre on August 9, the big guns, including managing director Dr P. Ramesh Babu, has been evading arrest.

The police even released the names and photos of four suspects, including hospital chairman Maddipati Seetha Ramamohana Rao, Ramesh Babu, COO Potluri Gopi Krishna and CFO Pothineni Ravi Kiran. In their bid to nab the four, the police announced the cash reward for informatio­n on their whereabout­s.

CP B. Srinivasul­u said, “It is unfair on the part of top management of Ramesh Hospitals to abscond without helping the police to take up the inquiry.”

Earlier, he told media persons that special teams had been visiting Chennai, Hyderabad and Bengaluru and other areas as part of the investigat­ion but they had failed to get details of the MoU between Ramesh Hospitals and Swarna Palace Hotel.

Referring to the treatment, the CP said that it was found in their inquiry that Ramesh Hospitals had collected huge fees to treat Covid-19 patients and added that notices under Sections 91 and 161 were served on the board of members of the hospital.

In a separate developmen­t, he advised people to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi by installing clay Ganesh idols in their homes.
