AP crosses 3K toll, 9,393 new cases

After a brief lull, the number of Coronavirus cases has risen in Andhra Pradesh again, registering 9,393 new Covid-19 cases, raising the tally to 3,25,396, apart from 95 deaths, taking the deal toll to 3,001.

The state health department has reported that of 55,551 samples tested for Covid-19, 9,393 individuals have tested positive. The state has so far tested 30,74,847 samples. Of them, 3,25,396 tested Covid-19 positive while 2,35,218 patients have been discharged after recovery and 87,177 patients are still undergoing treatment.

Among new infections, East Godavari district continues to lead with 1,357 cases, followed by

995 in West Godavari, 985 in Visakhapatnam, 973 in Anantapur, 836 in Chittoor, 805 in Kurnool, 762 in Srikakulam, 635 in Prakasam, 588 in Nellore, 443 in Guntur, 434 in Kadapa, 385 in Vizianagaram and 195 in Krishna.

With regard to cumulative infections, East Godavari is the worst hit with the highest number of

45,356 cases, followed by 36,381 in Kurnool, 32,603 in Anantapur,

28,808 in Guntur, 28,075 in Visakhapatnam, 27,025 in West Godavari, 26,573 in Chittoor,

19,672 in Nellore, 19,193 in

Kadapa, 16,990 in Srikakulam,

14,421 in Vizianagaram, 14,168 in Prakasam, 13,236 in Krishna,

2,461 from other states and 434 from other countries.

The rate of recovery from the infection has been good in Kurnool as 29,168 patients have recovered in the district, followed by 28,988 in East Godavari, 26,554 in Anantapur, 21,697 in Visakhapatnam, 21,641 in West Godavari, 21,012 in Guntur, 16,765 in Chittoor, 14,481 in Nellore,

14,421 in Kadapa, 11,062 in Srikakulam, 10,532 in Krishna,

8,640 in Prakasam, 7,362 in Vizianagaram, 2,461 from other states and 434 from other countries.
