MAN BEATEN FOR ‘KIDNAP’ OF INFANT

A person who allegedly kidnapped a 16-month-old boy was beaten up and handed over to the police in Nizamabad on Tuesday. Nagaraju of Basar in Nirmal district had allegedly kidnapped the boy Anji from Nizamabad bus stand.

Parents of the boy Sailoo and Laxmi of Dandigutta village found Nagaraju near the MPP office in Nizamabad on Tuesday and thrashed him, asking him about the whereabout­s of their son.

According to sources, Sailoo and Laxmi had come to Nizamabad bus stand on August 11, where Nagaraju met them. After their interactio­n, Nagaraju escaped with the boy. The shocked parents lodged a complaint with the police station and started searching for the kidnapper themselves.

They found Nagaraju near Nizamabad MPP office on Tuesday. Parents of the boy and others beat up Nagaraju asking him about the whereabout­s of the boy. Later they handed him over to the police, who are yet to locate the boy.

While this is so, Basar police in Nirmal district found the body of a one-and-a-half-yearold boy near the railway station on August 19. On examining the CCTV footage, they found a person carrying the body of the boy.

Nizamabad and Basar police officials are investing the kidnap and murder case respective­ly.
