Police release pictures of fugitives, offer reward for their capture
The Hyderabad police on Friday released pictures of the four Covd-19 prisoners who had escaped from Gandhi Hospital on Thursday, and announced a reward for actionable tips that could lead to the arrest of the escapees.
The four prisoners, convicts M. Somasunder, 20, and P. Narsaiah, 41, and undertrials Md Abdul Arbaz, 21, and Md Javed, 35, escaped from the special prisoners’ ward on the second floor at the hospital.
They are believed to have pried open the iron rods and squeezed their way out of the washroom window and rapelled down using bedsheets.

prisoners did not get any clues on Friday. Officials involved in the investigation said they were trying the track down the prisoners as they could spread the disease.
“The prisoners did not leave any clues that could help us trace them. The families and friends of the fugitives, as well as their close acquaintances, have been approached for help,” said the official. At the time of their escape, all the prisoners were in civilian clothes.
The four runaways were part of a group of 16 prisoners receiving Covid-19 treatment in the special ward at Gandhi Hospital.
Arbaz and Javed were caught less than a week ago, by Rajendranagar and Tandur police for involvement in theft cases. Somasunder and Narsimha, were convicts in theft cases, and were undergoing treatment at Institute of Mental Health for psychiatric issues. In 2011, Narsimha escaped from the IMH at Erragadda, but was later caught.
The police has provided the descriptions of the prisoners and said that all the escaped prisoners speak Hindi and Telugu languages.
