Bhatti slams TRS for Covid deaths
CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Friday said all deaths due to Covid-19 are murders committed by the state government; the deaths occurred because of the government’s inability to control the spread of the Coronavirus and the abysmal facilities in government hospitals.
He expressed his displeasure at the facilities in isolation wards and charged that the state government was asking patients to go for home quarantine in order to cover up its failure in providing quality treatment.
Speaking to mediapersons after visiting the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) here and interacting with relatives of Covid-19 patients, Mallu Bhatti said that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao and K.T. Rama Rao had failed to control the virus and had left patients to their fate.
He said that the minister from the old Adilabad district was more concerned about encroachments of tanks and lands than about public health. He demanded that the government to utilise the funds meant for SC and ST sub-plan to improve medical facilities at RIMS and other hospitals to give better services to patients from these communities since old Adilabad has a predominant tribal population.
The CLP leader said the situation could have been controlled if the government had considered the advice given by Congress Legislative Party and added that they will raise the failure of the government in the Assembly session.
The government has not spent a single rupee in the last six years on developing RIMS, which was sanctioned during the Congress government.
He said that at least 100 doctor posts are vacant at RIMS. The existing doctors, nurses and support staff of RIMS are working under tremendous stress but were doing a wonderful job, he said.
Mallu Bhatti interacted with Balram Naik, director of RIMS, to take stock of the situation. Earlier, Vikramarka visited the government hospital in Nirmal and enquired about the medical services being provided there.
Legislator C. Ramachandra Reddy, former DCC president Bhargav Deshpande, Asifabad DCC president Vishwa Prasad Rao, ZPTCs Ganesh Reddy, and Mallepula Narsaiah, Charultha Rathod and senior Congress leaders Sajid Khan, Naresh Jadhav, Bharath Chauhan and Yasam Narsinga Rao and Sanjeev Reddy were present on the occasion.
