` 500 cr worth TDRs issued in exchange of land
City mayor Bonthu Rammohan on Saturday said there has been a good response to the offer of transferable development rights (TDRs) and people were opting for it in exchange for land, thereby reducing financial burden on the GHMC. So far, about `500 crore worth of TDRs were issued.
While inspecting the progress of developmental works, Rammohan said in order to provide better infrastructure, the GHMC had taken up work on 37 link roads in the first phase at a cost of `313 crore. Of these, work on 10 had been completed. He visited the proposed 100feet link road for 2 km between Nallgandla main road at Ratnadeep to old Mumbai Highway. He said the Nallagandla lake will be developed as a picnic spot.
The Mayor directed the officials to put up estimates for development of the lake with facilities like walking track, lung space and boundary wall.
He visited the site where a 150-feet, 2.1 km long link road will be built from Serilingampally zonal office to the Chandanagar railway track. About 1.75 km of this road, costing `11 crore, had been completed by the HRDCL, Work on a one-km road from Chandanagar railway track to My Home is to be taken up.
Deputy Mayor Baba Fasiuddin said a `7.5 crore worth of cheques had distributed in connection with the road-widening works taken up in Borabanda. He distributed identity cards to hawkers and issued sanction letters for bank loans of `10,000 each to 85 street vendors.
