TS WORKERS IN JAIL IN SAUDI ARABIA

Seven persons from undivided Nizamabad district have landed in jails over the last 10 months in Saudi Arabia due to the lack of documents like passport and work visa.

They were duped by agents and middlemen and landed in the Gulf on a visit visa instead of a work visa. They turned illegal migrants once their visas expired and they were thrown behind the bars.

According to their family members, siblings Bhukya Man Singh, 39, (passport No.

K9204159) and Bhukya Ravi,

42, (passport No. N9661962) of School thanda in Ramareddy mandal of Kamareddy district are in jail in Riyadh for the last six months.

Kanneboyi Vishnu, 28, (passport No.K4783418) of Lingapur village in Navipet has been imprisoned for three months in Riyadh. Malavath Ganga Reddy, 28, of Devakkapet village in Bheemgal mandal has been in a Jeddah jail for the last three months.

Polevoina Narahari, 39, (passport No.P6472076) of Sadashivan­agar mandal headquarte­rs in Kamareddy district and Lambani Ravi, 36, of Secundrapu­r village in Bheemgal mandal of Nizamabad district are in the same jail for two and three months respective­ly. Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, Gali Rajalingai­ah of Burgul village in Gandhari mandal of Kamareddy district said that his younger son, Gali Devaiah,

33 (passport No.59703576) was in a Saudi Arabia jail for the last 10 months. “Without proper food and medical facilities, my son is facing a horrible situation,” said Rajalingai­ah. Saudi Arabian authoritie­s are neither releasing the workers nor allowing them to return to India, he said. Rajalingai­ah urged Chief Minister K. Chandrashe­kar Rao to faciltate the safe return of his son.

Telangana Gulf Welfare and Cultural Associatio­n president P. Basanth Reddy urged the ministry of external affairs and the state government to facilitate the safe return of the workers. He interacted with the family members of the workers in Kamareddy on Saturday. He assured the kin that he would bring the issue to the notice of the Indian embassy in Saudi Arabia.
