ED questions Goa hotelier
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Monday grilled Goa hotelier Gaurav Arya in connection with actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s suicide and possible laundering of his money as per allegations of his father. Arya’s name cropped up after some text messages on narcotics substances were allegedly shared between Rhea Chakraborty, the main accused in the case, and him.
The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) is also likely to grill Arya in connection with the drugs angle. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) meanwhile grilled Chakraborty for the fourth consecutive day on Monday.
The ED began questioning Arya from 10.30 am at the agency’s south Mumbai office to undergo scrutiny on whether there was any laundering of money and on the narcotics messages that were exchanged in 2017. The text messages were later shared with the NCB and the CBI by the ED. Arya has however refuted the allegations saying he neither ever peddled drugs
nor spoke date.
The Enforcement Directorate earlier questioned Rhea, her brother Showik and two sisters of Rajput apart from his chartered accountant and other staffers.
Meanwhile, the CBI again summoned Chakraborty on Monday for questioning at their DRDO guest house in Santacruz. “Chakraborty and her brother Showik, Rajput’s cook Neeraj Singh were questioned on Monday. They may be summoned again as the probe progresses,” said an officer privy to the investigation.
On Sunday, Rhea was questioned for around nine hours. She along with some other accused in the case have been grilled by the ED on multiple occasions before the CBI took over the probe. to
