CM to lay stone for shrines in new Sectt

TS govt will construct temple on 1,500 square yards

Chief Minister K. Chandrashe­kar Rao told the delegation that he would lay the foundation stone for the shrines soon after the Assembly session concludes.

The government will construct the temple on

1,500 square yards and hand it over to the endowments department. Two mosques, each of 750 square yards, including the imam’s quarters, will be constructe­d at their previous location and handed over to the Wakf Board.

Following a request by the Christian community, the Chief Minister said the government had decided to construct a church on the premises.

The government would expedite the constructi­on of Anees-ul-Gurbah, the institutio­n which gives shelter to and educates orphaned Muslim children, Rao said that about

80 per cent of the constructi­on works had been completed. The government would release `18 crore for speedy completion of the remaining work. The CM said that the constructi­on of the Islamic Centre was delayed due to the Covid

19 pandemic, and said the work would be put on the fast track. He also promised to develop graveyards for the Muslim community at different places in the city over a total of 150-200 acres. The collectors of Ranga Reddy and MedchelMal­kajgiri districts had been instructed to identify land for the purpose.

In the wake of damage caused to the ashurkhana at Narayanpet due to road widening, he instructed the collector to identify land and construct the Ashurkhana.
