New AICC in-charge of Telangana Manickam Tagore exhorted TPCC leaders and cadres that the sole aim of Congress party should be to defeat KCR regime and win assembly elections in 2023.

In his maiden interaction with party representatives through video conferencing on Wednesday, Manickam Tagore said it was unfortunate that Congress could not win in Telangana, for forming which Congress president Sonia Gandhi sacrificed another state (Andhra Pradesh). He pointed out that united AP had a major share in the total number of seats in the Lok Sabha.

The new AICC incharge advised Congress leaders and work

ers to evolve a winning combination in Telangana politics. “We have Sachins and Dhonis in our team. But we need to act as a team with discipline and mutual understanding. Our only target should be 2023 assembly elections.” Stating that Congress would focus on strengthening its organisational network in Telangana, he underlined that the party would be tough on ensuring discipline and having zero-tolerance towards indiscipline.

Manickam Tagore made it clear: “We will win the next elections in a unified and disciplined manner." He said he would again visit Hyderabad in the first week of October after getting a brief from AICC president Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi once they return from their foreign visit.

TPCC president Uttam Kumar Reddy, welcoming the new AICC incharge, assured him full support on behalf of the entire TPCC. Introducing TPCC leaders to Manickam Tagore, he pointed out that the main focus of day's meeting was membership drive, Dubbaka by-poll, elections to Hyderabad, Warangal and Khammam municipal corporations and MLC election from Nalgonda, Warangal and Khammam ate constituency.

Senior leaders, including CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, MPs A. Revanth Reddy and Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, MLAs Sridhar Babu, Jagga Reddy and Seethakka, MLC T. Jeevan Reddy and members of TPCC core committee participated in the meeting.

All TS leaders who participated in the meeting hoped Manickam Tagore would bring a lot of positive energy into the party’s organisation, as he had the experience of working with NSUI and Youth Congress before getting elected as Member of Parliament.
