It would be his first visit to Jammu and Kashmir after the state was stripped of its special status and split up into two union territories on August 5, 2019.

The President had on August 7 last year signed the Article 370 gazette, revoking the special status to J&K. The move came after both Houses of Parliament passed a resolution in this regard.
