Cardi B files for divorce

After a few years of onand-off togetherness, Cardi B and Offset are finally calling it quits. According to Entertainment Tonight, Cardi B filed for divorce from rapper Offset earlier this week. As per the court documents obtained by TMZ, she is reportedly seeking primary physical as well as legal custody of their two-year-old daughter, Kulture.

The documents reportedly reveal that the Invasion of Privacy singer is also asking Offset to pay child support and her legal expenses and that there be “an equitable division of all marital assets.”

The document further states that the two are currently separated and that “there are no prospects for reconciliation.”

The news of divorce comes on the heels of Cardi’s comments about their ‘solid relationship’. Speaking to Elle, the WAP rapper had said, “I do know that my relationship has a lot of drama and everything. But there’s a lot of love, there’s a lot of passion, there’s a lot of trust, there’s a big friendship.

It’s always us against the world”. She added, “There’s always rumours about me and my husband, and I feel like people would rather start rumours because they want me to be heartbroken. They want me to be hurt.”

The couple had broken up several times due to Offset’s alleged infidelity. In December 2018, Cardi B took to Instagram to announce that she and the rapper were “not together anymore” and were headed for a divorce. But the two later got back together.
