Actress Divya Dutta has been basking in the success of her recent web-series, Hostages 2.

The actress has a kitty full of work despite the prevalent COVID19 situation. Among her upcoming shows are Sheer Qorma and Abhi Toh Party Shuru Hui Hai (directed by Anubhav Sinha). She is also doing a web-show for Netflix, directed by Dibaker Banerjee.

“I have another Bollywood film from a big production house, which will be announced soon, although I can’t reveal its details right now. In addition, I have a comedy on hand, for which I shall be working with director Umesh Shukla, and a Punjabi film,” shares Divya.

For her role in Ram Singh Charlie, which released last week, Divya went without makeup. “I did not have any inhibitions about not wearing makeup. In fact, when I looked into the mirror, I felt it looked nice for the character I was playing,” Divya adds.

In Sheer Qorma, a film that revolves around an Indian LGBT romance, she plays the love interest of Swara Bhasker. “I had no inhibitions taking up this character. In fact, the director had placed so much faith in me, he said, ‘If you don’t take up this role, I shall not make this film.’ This was a big compliment for me as he made this with me in mind,” says Divya, while gushing over Shabana Azmi, who plays her mother in the film.

Divya says excitedly, “An actor’s job is half done when you have a brilliant actor opposite you because then you only have to react.”
