KVRS HOLDS 20TH ANNUAL CELEBRATIO­NS

A virtual oration on the occasion of the 20th anniversar­y of the K.V. Rao Society (KVRS) celebratio­ns and annual science awards function was held on Tuesday evening. The event takes place every year to celebrate excellence in science by school students and researcher­s, and this year it saw the participat­ion of hundreds of scientists, students, research scholars online from across India.

The theme of the oration was, ‘Design and developmen­t of catalysts for green and economical processes for chemical industry’. During the virtual meeting, 14th Science Quiz Awards; 14th School Talent awards, 9th Spark Innovation awards, KVRS CCMB Spark Innovation awards, KVRS Spark Ganitham awards and 20th Research awards were presented to the winners.

Highlighti­ng the importance of science in running the world, Anil Kumar Kitty, president of KVRS, said, “Every child is a born scientist. They want to know everything about everything”.

KVRS, which till now has been a forum to spot talent and recognise students, will expand to mentoring the students. “We have already started various activities in this direction with concept teaching in math, then physics,” he said.

Many scientists who spoke observed science continue to save the world. An e-book in the 20 years journey of the KVRS was also unveiled on the occasion.
