Talasani takes CLP chief on tour of 2BHK sites

- DC CORRESPONDENT

Animal husbandry minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav triggered a political drama by visiting Congress Legislature Party leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and taking him along on a tour double bedroom houses being constructed by the government in the GHMC limits.

During a short discussion in the Assembly on Wednesday on infrastructure works in the GHMC and other municipalities, Mallu Bhatti had alleged that despite the TRS being in power for six years, the government had not fulfilled its poll promise of its first term of providing houses to the poor.

Mallu Bhatti said that during the last GHMC elections, the ruling party had promised 2BHK houses to the poor. This time again, TRS leaders are trying to bluff the poor in the name of 2BHK houses in the coming GHMC elections.

Alleging that the Congress leader was lying, the minister said “I am requesting him: Tomorrow at 10 am, I will visit his house and take him to the doublebedroom sites wherever the construction is happening, if he wants.”

Keeping his word, the minister along with mayor B. Rammohan descended on Mallu Bhatti’s residence and took him in his car to the construction sites at Jiyaguda, Ghode ka Khabar, Indira Colony, Kattal Mandi, Bansilalpet and Marredpally where 3,428 2BHK units are coming up.

They later held a press conference. Yadav said that their visits will continue on Friday as there are many houses under construction in different areas. The CLP leader said that he had complete information about 1 lakh 2BHK houses which are said to be under construction and he will react only after visiting them.

Replying to a question on the quality of the construction, Mallu Bhatti said that he was not a civil engineer. He said, “My team, which includes experts, will submit a report on it tomorrow.”
