Tagore’s tips to Cong leaders
Manickam Tagore, in-charge of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC), on Saturday urged party leaders to adopt a constituency-centric approach in order to win the next Assembly elections.
Tagore, along with TPCC president Capt. N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, held a video conference with AICC secretaries, candidates in the Lok Sabha elections, former ministers and senior leaders on Saturday.
He said that the Congress would adopt a micro-level constituency centric approach to reach out to the people. He said that the main objective should be to get a majority of votes in all 34,360 polling booths in the 2023 elections.
Tagore made it clear that the party does not differentiate between seniors and juniors and involves seniors in all decision-making processes.
He said, “We are not out of the game. We must fight the battle with the right perceptive. There should be continuous communication among all leaders. Winning each booth is important and it can be achieved through booth-centric work, cadre-building and discipline. Although we are a national party, we must think regionally.”
Tagore said that the Congress had granted statehood for Telangana state, but the people did not gain anything as only one family had been taking away the entire wealth. This should be exposed to gain people’s support, he said.
While introducing the day’s participants to Tagore, the TPCC president said that it was the second meeting to facilitate interaction between senior leaders with the new AICC in charge.
The leaders discussed the strategy for the Dubbaka byelections.
