Richa goes the legal way

After actress Payal Ghosh accused Anurag Kashyap of sexual misconduct and dragged Richa Chaddha’s name into it, Richa has issued a statement saying she’s initiating legal action against Payal.

A few days ago, Payal took to Twitter to make the charge against Anurag. She tagged Prime Minister Narendra Modi in her tweet and called for an action against the filmmaker. In her second tweet Payal also named Huma Qureshi and Richa Chaddha.

“Our client has initiated appropriate legal action and shall further pursue her legal rights and remedies in law as may be advised in her best interest,” said a note from Richa’s lawyers. Pooja Bhatt, Fatima Sana Sheikh, and others were quick to laud Richa for her action.

Kalki Koechlin too has reacted against the sexual harassment claims. “Dear Anurag, don’t let this social media circus get to you, you have fought for the freedom of women in your scripts, you’ve defended their integrity in your professional space as well as in your personal life. I have been witness to it, in the personal and professional space you have always seen me as your equal, you have stood up for my integrity even after our divorce, and you have supported me when I felt unsafe in a work environment even before we got together,” Kalki tweeted.
