Schools reopen

● MIDDLE LEVEL corporate schools had some students coming in from Class 9 to 12. There are no regular classes and students can go to school to clarify their doubts.

Some students went to private schools on Monday, when educationa­l institutio­ns were allowed to partially reopen under Unlock 4.0 guidelines, while the government schools see any students.

With schools not arranging transport in view of the Covid-19 guidelines, only those who had their own transport went to school. Students have been allowed to go to school voluntaril­y, and with a consent letter from their parents.

CBSE schools which had a few children in the higher classes have ensured that there was one student per bench, and a lot of distance maintained. The number of benches in the classrooms was reduced. Schools were also sanitised.

The schools were open for a short duration and there was no recess or break.

A corporate school manager on condition of anonymity said, “Due to lack of clarity from the state government many schools are not opting for opening. Every school carried out a survey with parents and more than 80 per cent said no.”

He said that for 20 per cent students, the schools are not willing to take the risk. “In the meanwhile those parents who are facing problems have been told that the child can consult the teacher and if still problems persist can come to school once a week to clear doubts,” he said. District education department stated that only teachers came to the government schools and there were no students. If any student has doubts can come to school by following all safety protocols.
