BJP DEMANDS WHITE PAPER ON HYDERABAD
BJP MLC N. Ramachander Rao on Wednesday demanded that the state government release a white paper on the total amount spent for development of Hyderabad city during the past four years.
Addressing a press conference, he pointed out that municipal administration minister K. T. Rama Rao had recently declared that government has already spent ` 65,000 crore on development under GHMC limits, particularly Hyderabad city. While the claim is so, citizens of the city have been experiencing innumerable problems, including bad roads and open nalas, which are causing great inconvenience to general public.
Ramachander Rao said recent rains claiming two lives in just a day expose the claim of such amounts being spent on beatification works in the capital city. He accused TRS leaders of making false promises just before GHMC elections to win the confidence of gullible voters.
The BJP MLC said while the TRS government had promised two-bedroom houses to all homeless poor, it has constructed not more than 10,000 houses during the last four years in the city, when the fact is that lakhs of people have no houses.
Expressing confidence that BJP would win a majority of seats in GHMC during the coming elections, Ramachander Rao asked people to support BJP and free Hyderabad city from the clutches of TRS and MIM.
