Jagan offers silk robes at Tirumala

-

Ignoring protests by opposition parties, Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy entered the hill shrine of Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala without signing the declaration form and offered silk clothes to the Lord on behalf of the state government.

It is an official tradition to make such an offering on the occasion of Garuda Vahana Seva during the annual Brahmotsavams.

Meanwhile, clad in the traditional attire of white shirt and silk dhoti with the Tirunamam (insignia) applied to his forehead and adorned with traditional headgear by temple archaka at Bedi Anjaneya Swamy temple, he carried the silk vastrams in a silver plate over his head.

Later, the CM handed over the vastrams to the chief priest inside the temple and had darshan of Lord Venkateswara.

Later, the Chief Minister was offered Vedasirvachanam by vedic Pundits at mandapam.
