ARUNA FOR CBI PROBE INTO TS FARM PROJECTS
BJP vice-president D.K. Aruna has demanded an investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) into irrigation projects taken up by the K. Chandrashekar Rao government.
Addressing a press conference at the state BJP office here on Sunday, she accused the government of swindling funds in the name of changing the design of irrigation projects.
The BJP leader attributed submergence of the Yeleru pump house under Kalwakurty project followed by a blast to negligence of the government. She protested that the government used police force to prevent them from visiting the site.
She said that government set up the pump house underground in spite of engineers being against it. She pointed out that government ministers and TRS leaders had written a letter opposing the project. Still the government insisted on setting up the pump house underground.
Aruna urged the Centre to order a CBI probe to unravel facts behind the acts of omission and commission in building the irrigation projects. Accusing the government of ignoring the Palamuru-Ranga Reddy lift irrigation scheme, she said designs of this project and the Chevella Pranahitha scheme were also changed to mint money.
Aruna said the Chief Minister could have undertaken a helicopter survey to assess crops loss due to incessant rains. She slammed the government for failing to give detailed project reports to the Apex Council and said the Chief Minister should inform people about of his version of the projects.
