IT minister K.T. Rama Rao, who spoke at the event, said, “School innovation challenge is a practical example of identifying creativity within students at an early stage. Its decentralised approach involving a number of schools, teachers and students had led to an organic growth of innovation among students.”

The minister praised the Telangana Education Department and IT Department through Telangana State Innovation Cell for the impactful programme. “I have learnt from interaction with students that all ideas have come from problems being faced within their community. Such challenges should be organised in every district for the benefit of students. The Telangana State Innovation Cell should also look at sectorspecific innovation, so that innovative ecosystems could be built,” he stated.

The 2020 edition of the challenge was formally launched by education minister Sabitha Indra Reddy on August 28, 2020.
