The cadre of the TRS are curious to know the decision of the party on whether or not to contest the Hyderabad-Ranga Reddy- Mahbubnagar Graduates’ MLC constituency polls. Speculations are rife that party may not contest.

The elections for Hyderabad-Ranga ReddyMahbubnagar and Nalgonda-Warangal- Khammam Graduates’ MLC constituencies are due in March this year. The ongoing enrolment of graduate voters by the Election Commission is likely to being in the next couple of days.

As far as the NalgondaWarangal- Khammam

Graduates’ MLC constituency seat is concerned the sitting candidate of the TRS Palla Rajeshwar Reddy is likely to contest again.

But as far as the Hyderabad segment is concerned, according to sources, the party leadership appears not so keen on the contest.

In the the last elections, TRS candidate Devi Prasad, the NGO leader, faced defeat in the hands of BJP candidate N. Ramachandra Rao, who will be contesting this time.

In this backdrop and also the setback faced by the party in the recent GHMC elections, the TRS leadership is carefully assessing the situation before announcing its candidate for the Hyderabad seat.

Currently, the names of Devi Prasad, another NGO leader K. Ravinder Reddy, and OSD in Chief Minister's Office Deshapathy Srinivas are doing the rounds in the party as probables for the seat. But there is no clear indications from the party leadership.
