Aditi and her Cancelled Plans

The actress is set to showcase her creative side in addition to her artistic side

The actress, who works across languages and industries, has been known for her work, her choices, singing dancing and for her effortless style.

Now we hear that during the lockdown, Aditi Rao Hydari had collaborated with Hyderabad- based Mallika Reddy to design a very special limitededition collection for Cancelled Plans, a sustainab le streetwear fashion brand, which was founded and launched at the London Design Festival in conjunction with the London Fashion Week in September 2019. Cancelled Plans celebrates the use of recycled and rejected materials otherwise deemed as waste and Aditi aims to amplify the brand’s ethos around sustainability.

Talking about her collaboration, Aditi says, “The idea to collaborate started with my first present from Cancelled Plans during the lockdown. It was a sweatshirt sent to me by Mallika, which I wore non-stop (and then bought more). I love what the brand stands for and the world it is trying to build. To me, it was simple — comfort and fun rooted in responsibility — and I started by sharing Cancelled Plans with my friends.”

Aditi goes on to tell us that she and Mallika then began customising unique sweatshirts for her friends, which led the duo to think of creating a tiny line together. “I enjoyed this process so much. We sat at the drawing board and played with waste materials from various factories to design and create this line. We made multiple samples and I’ve literally lived in these coordinated sets over the past few months,” says Aditi.
