He’s the proud owner of another slice of lunar land
Chand ne kuch kaha’, the popular song from the Yash Chopra film Dil To Pagal Hai featuring Shah Rukh Khan, has acquired new meaning — today, Shah Rukh Khan will own one more acre of land – not on Planet Earth but on the Moon!
Sandi, one of his fans from Australia, has been buying an acre of land on the moon every year for the actor over the last several years. Now, Team Shah Rukh Khan, the actor’s fan club, has also bought land on the moon for him.
Gulsan Jena, founder of the eight-year-old Team Shah Rukh Khan, said “We try to do something unique every time and this year we took inspiration from his dialogue from his latest release, Zero – ‘Sitaron Ke Khwaab Dekhne Walon Humne Toh Chaand Ko Qareeb Se Dekha Hai’. We bought one acre of land on the Lake of Dreams on the Moon from the International Lunar Lands Registry (Partner: Luna Society), as a gift for the great Shah Rukh Khan. We will hand over the registered deed and documents to him very soon,”
Referring to Sandi’s gifts, SRK had, on an earlier occasion, said “An Australian lady buys a little land on the moon for me every year on my birthday. She has been buying it for a while now and I get these certificates from the Lunar Republic Society.” Giving more details, he had said “She writes me colourful emails (in the sense that one line is red, one is blue and so on). I feel blessed to have the love of so many people worldwide.” Team Shah Rukh Khan is SRK’s biggest fan club, with over 4.4 million fans on Facebook, more than 2.6 lakh fans on Instagram.
According to the Lunar Registry, the Sea of Tranquillity is the most sought-after area on the moon and SRK owns several acres there.
