Signal to a new era

-

According to Abhisek Dhar, who’s a senior software engineer with a leading software company in Hyderabad, in addition to Signal having all the features that WhatsApp currently has, it being an opensource application means Signal’s objectives isn’t to earn money from the app.

“I work almost nine hours a day in front of my MacBook and use the desktop version of WhatsApp for the ease of my work and to save time. Even Signal, I found, has a similar great option. You can make voice and video calls — even from the desktop version — which is not a feature even in WhatsApp. And that is really helpful for someone like me who hates switching around the MacBook and iPhone every now and then, especially, when I am in the middle of something. So, for now, I am getting used to Signal to know it better, but I’ll wait for some time to come to my conclusion of using only Signal or use both,” adds Abhisek.

Y. Kiran Chandra, president of forum for IT professionals, who has been using Signal since it first released in 2014, believes that Signal is the safest app for now especially because the entire source code of the app is available to the public for scrutiny.
